11 months ago – Thu, May 15, 2025 at 11:03:16 AM

Just a quick update, folks, to let you all know that the surveys are out. Thank you to all those who completed our little smoke test. Everything looks to be working, but as always, if you have questions, please pm us here or send an email to [email protected]

Smoke Test Sent
11 months ago – Sun, May 11, 2025 at 03:46:57 PM

Fellow Adventurers,

Following the completion of the Backer Kit Questionnaire, we are now ready to issue a 5% smoke test. This will randomly select 5% of our backers and invite you lucky few to complete the Dark Moon Rises survey before everyone else.

We have applied the GBP equivalent of a  $5 refund to every VIP backer and uploaded the shipping rates, so we should be good to go. The smoke test will weed out any issues and allow us to fix them before everyone jumps on and begins completing their pledges.

If any of you lovely folk have questions please do PM us here or email to [email protected] and we will endeavour to help you out.

Thank you once again for all your support and we look forward to sharing some snippets of the adventure and the final look for the books as soon as we can.

Writing, Backers and a Thank You
11 months ago – Mon, Apr 28, 2025 at 10:30:45 AM

Greetings Adventurers,

The Archmage has completed the writing of the fourth and final title in the Dark Moon Rises Adventure Series and we will be rigorously playtesting it very soon. I know, it's tough but someone has to sit there and play D&D for hours as their actual job [sigh]

In the meantime, Kickstarter has just released the backer info and so that will be uploaded into Backer Kit very shortly. Following that, we will initially do a smoke test with a handful of you, just to ensure everything works as it should, and then the full release will be given the green light. We will post an update here when all the surveys have been sent. As always, questions should be asked here by PM or via email to [email protected]

Now that we are looking to move our campaign over to Backer Kit and our website, we are saying au revoir but not adieu to Jellop. They were great in assisting us to reach and then surpass our expectations, so a big thank you to them. To ensure that you are kept up to date on other projects that Jellop are helping out, you can sign up for their newsletter that regularly promotes cool projects (like ours).

Scepter of the Lightbringer

And whilst we have you, please do give this campaign a good look. The guys at Elderbrain have created a fantastic 700+ page D&D 5e campaign, which is live now!

Scepter of the Lightbringer blends urban investigation with sandbox exploration. As a supernatural heatwave sparks chaos across the city of Drayl, players are drawn into a deadly struggle between a vampire-led underworld and the fanatical cultists of a fallen theocracy.

The massive world features three richly developed cities, hundreds of NPCs, encounters, and locations, plus new urban-themed dungeons, monsters, items, poisons, tools, subclasses, feats, and spells. It’s fully written, edited, and ready for quick fulfillment—including VTT support for Roll20 and FoundryVTT, free downloads, and an Elderbrain Soundscapes app.

Early backers get an exclusive glow-in-the-dark dice set, and higher tiers include the chance to become an NPC in the adventure, which was shaped by the input of over 3,000 community members.

But from the Archmage and all at Archmagepress, thank you once again to everyone who got involved in our second 5e campaign, The Dark Moon Rises. We will be back in touch soon when the surveys are ready to send out.

Thank you to all our Wonderful Backers
12 months ago – Thu, Apr 10, 2025 at 05:57:30 AM

Here are Oliver (writer) and Mel (Director of Archmagepress) caught at the moment you helped us get to £190,000.

Thank you so much.

We will now be updating all the errata for DDK ready for the reprint and updating for those people who backed our first Kickstarter, and of course getting the Dark Moon Rises ready for print too. We can now pay our artists and get them beavering away and our map maker can complete the battle maps for books 3 and 4. We will keep you updated as we progress.

The Backer Kit survey will be out in approximately 2 weeks, once Kickstarter has collected funds and transferred over our backer list.

If for any reason you missed the Kickstarter you are welcome to visit our Website which is now running archmagepress.com where we will continue to take pre-orders .

Once again, thank you so much for backing this project. It means the world to us.

Less Than A Week To Go
12 months ago – Fri, Apr 04, 2025 at 04:42:46 AM

Greetings everybody.

I just wanted to thank all of you that have backed us so far. As I write there are some malevolent giggles coming from The Archmage's desk as he adds some particularly  sneaky bits into the books as he works. "Oh , they'll enjoy this bit," he chortles cheerfully . "The only downside is that it makes them impulsive, and they then have to make the first choice until the end of the book. "

What will you do when you play? Choose greater power and be cursed and impulsive or fight on without the added benefit?

There are just six days left to the end of the campaign and we are looking forward to getting everything sorted. The money raised will allow us to get great quality writing out to you in beautiful books along with stunning maps.

If you haven't backed us yet and you would still like to, then please join the campaign here. The Dark Moon is Rising and only you can save the afflicted from those that would have them cursed for ever.

BACK THE DARK MOON RISES NOW, HERE ON KICKSTARTER

Thank you

Mel

PS: Dungeon Mastered (update 3) was definitely an April Fool's Gag. Sorry, if you tried to pre-order ;-)
